FROM THE DIRECTORS

New Director of The Mother Church

From the August 1981 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Effective May 4, 1981, David W. Rennie, C.S.B., resigned from The Christian Science Board of Directors to return to Denver, Colorado, where he will continue his practice and teaching of Christian Science. He will also be serving again on The Christian Science Board of Lectureship.

Mr. Rennie's faithful service to the Cause of Christian Science is greatly appreciated. He entered the full-time public practice in 1953, and has served as teacher, Committee on Publication for the State of Colorado, and on the Board of Lectureship, as well as being a Director. We are very grateful for his devoted service in all of these positions.

We are pleased to announce the election, effective May 5, 1981, of H. Dickinson Rathbun, C.S.B., of Falls Church, Virginia, to succeed Mr. Rennie. For the past nine years Mr. Rathbun has served as Manager of the Washington, District of Columbia, Office of the Committee on Publication. He left the position of executive vice-president of a builders association to enter the full-time public practice of Christian Science in 1960, and later became an authorized teacher. Prior to becoming Manager of the Washington, District of Columbia, Office, he was Committee on Publication for the State of Virginia. He has served his branch church as First Reader, president, member of the executive board, and Sunday School teacher, and is currently a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Arlington, Virginia.
