When I was in high school, my youngest sister had a healing that deeply impressed me and years later continues to bring inspiration. It showed me that the teachings of Christian Science have lost none of their tremendous healing efficacy.
One afternoon while playing outside, this sister received an accidental sharp blow on the top of her head. From inside the house I heard her screams and rushed out to help. Before I even saw her, I turned wholeheartedly to God and the truths of His perfect creation. She was bleeding profusely, but my prayer had brought a conviction of God's omnipresence and left me totally unafraid. Calmly I carried her into the house while reminding her of God's love and healing power.
We immediately called a Christian Science practitioner, and almost at once the bleeding stopped. As she was reminded of God's omnipotent care, my sister quieted. Shortly after the accident a medical nurse, who is a friend of ours in the neighborhood, came over to the house and pleaded with us to take my sister to the hospital. We assured her that we had engaged the services of a Christian Science practitioner and were confident that the child's every need was being met by God.
