Many years ago my dad was severely burned in a barn fire. He was taken to a hospital, and there someone gave him a copy of Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. My gratitude for that "good Samaritan" is unending.
My dad had studied the Bible earlier in life and he loved it. So it was natural for him to accept what he read in Science and Health. This occurred over sixty years ago, and although I don't recall how long it was until Dad was well, he was completely healed through the reading of this book.
At the time, I was a teen-ager and didn't realize that it was Dad's acceptance of the truth of Christian Science that had healed him. However, later in life when I was married and an expectant mother, he asked me to study Science during the pregnancy. Initially I was reluctant to do this, having heard derogatory things about this religion. But I loved my dad and so agreed to study Science just to please him.
