Matthew 25:14-28

From the August 1983 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Dear Lord,
what future for one talent?
Shall I bury it in words?
Alphabets of admonition
are cold solace for the soul.

So, No!
I'll not be a letter man.
I will take my single talent
and double it in service,
invest it in my brother

with love.
Now it's tallying day again:
there's approving word "Well done"
and the talent that was one—
lo! it's multiplied to ten!
