"Ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold . . ." the Bible tells us, ". . . but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." I Pet. 1:18, 19.

Anatomically considered, blood serves the purpose of circulating the materials needed by the body and carrying away what it doesn't need.
