How grateful I am for Christian Science, and for the growth in a spiritual understanding of God that it has brought me. It was through this understanding that I obtained one of the most important healings I have had since coming into Christian Science.
Some years ago I developed an infection. Over a period of days the condition worsened, and I became frightened that something serious might happen. I then decided to consult a doctor and obtain a medical diagnosis.
After the doctor had examined me and given me a prescription to have filled, I went home and spent long hours in prayer. I prayed that the Christ might illumine my consciousness so that I would know which road to follow. Despite the fact that I was then new in Christian Science, I was able to perceive clearly how much I had allowed myself to be influenced by the testimony of the material senses. From that moment on I resolved not to use medicine but to rely exclusively on God for the healing. I got in touch with a Christian Science practitioner, who very lovingly took my case.
