Poems

The homecoming

From the April 1985 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I left behind
a pile
of disenchantment
rolled up in tattered rags,
a hug of holes,
through which the wind
of God blew out
the husks of mortal sense—
blew in Soul-sense.
My Father ran to greet me.
We embraced.
Draped in royal robes
now I feast
on spiritual delights
within the realm of Love.
