Many years ago my health was such that I went from doctor to doctor (nine in all) trying to find relief. I was suffering from migraine, spells of extreme nausea, and severe exhaustion. At one point my eyesight became impaired and I had to give up my job. Each doctor I visited diagnosed a different ailment, and some recommended surgery.
Shortly after I quit work, my husband was transferred to another state. I was determined that rather than seek further medical help I would take care of myself. I did fine for about a month, but when I fainted while doing the laundry, my husband and I decided to see another doctor. This doctor, after examining me, said I had two years to live and had better enjoy life as much as I could. I spoke of our desire to have another child. He said that I would be signing my own death warrant if I gave birth. We hired someone to help me with the house, and I tried to relax and enjoy my little girl and husband to the fullest.
One of our neighbors laughingly suggested that I try Christian Science, since I had already tried everything else. I had heard little about Science and thought no more about the suggestion. After about six months my husband was again transferred to another area. The first weekend he came home he told me his new boss was a Christian Scientist.
