Sometimes deep spiritual lessons are learned when events seem most discouraging.
When we were expecting our first child I wanted to have a home birth. My husband and I made extensive arrangements in order to bring this about. However, things didn't work out as I had planned. The labor was difficult and my confidence fled. I went to the hospital and our baby was delivered by Caesarean section.
My second birth experience was a repeat of the first. I had been a student of Christian Science for many years and had thought I was spiritually prepared for these births. It came as a shock to me to find out I had so much to learn.
