Are you ready for association day?

From the November 1989 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Your suitcase may be packed and your travel plans made. You may have things prepared so that the family will be taken care of while you are gone. You may even be hungering spiritually for the truths you know will be shared on this day. But is this all that's needed to get the most out of a Christian Science Students Association meeting—the annual gathering of those who have had Primary class instruction with a teacher?

Well, it's a good start. Just overcoming any resistance to Truth that would keep us away from association meeting is an important beginning. We may be familiar with some of the arguments that say we just won't go this year—no money, too busy, can't take time off from work, can't leave the family, don't feel inspired this year, not interested in the speaker we're having, didn't get enough from last year's meeting.

Because the association meeting is symbolic of God's love, there is more we can do to avail ourselves of a fuller measure of the message. It could be summed up in one word— communion. Communion with God prepares thought for the message of inspiration from Him, the one divine Mind.
