Television, radio, magazines, and newspapers today do more than entertain and give the news. They bring to the attention of the public a surprising range of issues that must be considered.
Many people are now finding themselves having to think about questions in the fields of science, theology, and medicine—and questions of social justice, education, economic reform. More and more, people see that these questions have a practical bearing on their own everyday lives.
In the words of the Preface to Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, "The time for thinkers has come." And in this month's Journal we continue the series in the Threshold section: "Thinking about Christian Science and . . ." These articles generally alternate with the series "Theology and healing" or other special features.
The first article in the "Thinking about . . ." series (February 1988) explored a Christian Science perspective on Biblical scholarship. In succeeding months articles have brought the spiritual and metaphysical perspective of Christian Science to the new physics, the arts, medicine, world issues, and other topics.
