Whether at a shopping mall, on a college campus, or in the foyer of a church, a bulletin board is a great place for people to share information. You can learn a lot about an active community from reading local bulletin boards. We hope you'll enjoy this bulletin board and feel encouraged to join in and share experiences.
I would like to share an experience I had when teaching a Sunday School class of five-to seven-year-olds.
The Lesson-Sermon for that week included the story of David and Goliath, and I was endeavoring to bring out the importance of understanding what it meant to "put on our armor each day." The children knew what a material suit of armor consisted of, and we talked about the "armor" David put on, in contrast to the material armor of Goliath. David rejected the armor offered by Saul. He had proved God's protection in the past and was unafraid to face Goliath, knowing that his understanding of God's all-power and presence was his protection. We talked about what Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health concerning armor: "Clad in the panoply of Love, human hatred cannot reach you" (p. 571). It seemed important to me they understand that each morning as they dressed for the day, they should remember to put on their spiritual armor and know that the Truth is their protection; that we are all God's children, held in the arms of Love.
