One of the most discouraging beliefs afflicting humanity is that of old age and its threat of irreversible deprivation, decay, and decrepitude.
Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health, "Men and women of riper years and larger lessons ought to ripen into health and immortality, instead of lapsing into darkness or gloom." Science and Health, p. 248. And she also affirms on this subject, "Immortality, exempt from age or decay, has a glory of its own,— the radiance of Soul." Ibid., p. 247.
Young people should not think this article is not
for them; youth, after all, is only another aspect
of what is called age. And the so-called aged should
not think that it is too late to claim their eternally
intact individuality.
