I was raised in Christian Science. As a child I was given much help from my family and from my teachers in the Christian Science Sunday School. However, there came a time when I had to make my own decisions. Because of the moral strength shown by those around me, I found it natural to follow this Science and to make the spiritual truths it teaches my own.
A healing that has served as a landmark for me occurred when our second son was only a few weeks old. My aunt and uncle were staying with us for the weekend. On Saturday morning I asked my aunt if she would excuse me, as I was feeling rather uncomfortable with pain. I returned to my bedroom, intending to read that week's Bible Lesson.
As I endeavoured to study, however, I found it impossible to concentrate or indeed to read at all. I tried to reach out to God for help and to be aware of Him only. I became very fearful because my body was becoming cold and numb. I felt I might be passing on.
