When I was a young teen-ager, I joined one of the Protestant denominations in New England. I recall feeling uplifted by the knowledge that we are the beloved children of God. For some years I was an active member of that church.
Then, during an unsuccessful first marriage, I came to realize that the fellowship offered by that church was not meeting the much deeper spiritual need I felt to know more of God. My sister had been told of Christian Science by a friend, and she asked me to borrow a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy from the local public library. I did so. We shared the book, and we both became students of this Science.
What a difference that book made (and continues to make) in my life! With each chapter I read I knew that here was the spiritual truth of being. I earnestly sought to know myself in my real nature as the spiritual image of God. This growing understanding of my true identity has resulted in the healing of many situations throughout the years.
