Church by Mrs. Eddy, Article XIV)

From the October 1990 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Before the day began, our pastor was here
With nourishment that refreshed my waking thought.
In the afternoon our pastor was here
Embracing me with comfort
Until I found my tears to be unfounded
Because I was surrounded by the love of God.
At midnight hour our pastor was here
With lighted beacons that dispelled my dark
Uncertainties and fears, and showed me that
I stood on holy ground—
Upon the rock of Truth—
A sound foundation for my newfound peace.
Like the shepherd who guards, guides, and feeds
His flock in pastures green;
The teacher who stirs the searching thought;
The constant friend who cares with grace;
The Holy Bible and Science and Health
Unparalleled, compelling, and crowned;
Our dual pastor ever near—
Minister to our needs one-on-one
With a gentle touch. From the still, small voice
We hear the message of the Christ
Revealing to us the healing power of the sacred Word.
