That Christian Science heals is unquestionable...

From the October 1990 issue of The Christian Science Journal

That Christian Science heals is unquestionable to me. In a time when the efficacy and safety of reliance on prayer in Christian Science for the healing of our children is being publicly challenged, I am humbly grateful to have witnessed the following healing of my daughter.

At the beginning of the school year last year, my daughter's school held a dance in their gymnasium. I left my daughter at the door, reassured that the children would be well chaperoned and not allowed to leave the gym. As I drove home, and for the remainder of the evening, I found myself praying for my daughter's safety. I remember being surprised by my prayer, but nonetheless I was obedient to the leadings of my Father-Mother God. There was no sense of urgency about this praying, just a calm trust in God's all-presence. When the time came to go back for my daughter, I felt really enveloped in God's great love for both of us.

I had no sooner parked my car than I was informed that there had been an accident. My child and some others had been running and playing on the football field, and my daughter had run into a metal bar, wounding her head and causing her to lose consciousness momentarily. She was being comforted by a member of the school staff, who was very concerned about the injury.
