Raised in Christian Science, I have always been aware of its basic principles, though I did not greatly rely upon them until recently. Even now I realize how much more there is to learn of the lessons that Christ Jesus taught and that our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, explained so well in Science and Health.
For many years I regarded my career as an end in itself that defined my existence. This led to many career changes and rapid dissatisfaction with most positions. The result was a general unhappiness with my life, manifested in health trouble such as constant colds and headaches, as well as excessive drinking.
It was only after a particularly bad period that I returned to the Church of Christ, Scientist. There were doubts and struggles during those early years, but once the commitment was made I didn't turn back. Significant healings of personal relationship difficulties, as well as of the troubles mentioned above, made me aware of how much God and Christian Science had come to mean to me.
