Amid the trembling hopes of human need—
Beyond man's laws which often fail to free—
The statute of almighty God still stands:
"I AM, and I have not forsaken thee."
This law of Love and great Immanuel
Can never be obstructed or repealed.
It proves, on earth, the gentle will of God
That every mortal discord shall be healed.
It shows a Father's ever-strengthening care,
A Mother's tender, reassuring hand—
Unflawed by human weakness, but expressed
In every way a child may understand;
A love that melts the frozen hopes of time,
That shines wherever man may stray or flee,
That warms and lifts, releasing every heart
To feel and share Love's joy—abundantly!
