The 1999 Annual Meeting of The Mother Church will convene on Monday, June 7, at 1:30 p.m. in the Extension of The Mother Church. The meeting will last approximately two and a half hours, and child care will be provided for those too young to attend.
This year's meeting will be held for the purpose of "listening to the reports of Treasurer, Clerk, and Committees, and general reports from the Field" (Manual of The Mother Church, Art. XIII, Sect. 1). It will continue to highlight humanity's accelerating spiritual quest and the ways in which The Mother Church and its members are responding to it. Reports by church officers and from the Field will include a thoughtful look at the leavening effect Mary Baker Eddy's principal work, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, is having on natural science today.
Simultaneous translation of Annual Meeting will be provided in French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. Excerpts will appear in upcoming issues of The Christian Science Journal and in various editions of The Herald of Christian Science.
