Sometimes To Read a book is to be taken to an unexpected place. Upon reaching the end of C. G. Weeramantry's sobering look at world conditions, C. G. Weeramantry, The Lord's Prayer: Bridge to a Better World (Liguori, Mo.: Liguori/Triumph, 1998) I recalled a private moment in my prayer life.
It came during a Christian Science Wednesday testimony meeting. How many times before had I prayed the Lord's Prayer as one voice in a congregation or in moments of need? But this time it was different. And all I did differently was to listen.
