My very first healing was such a joy to me, and it came after reading passages from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I had just been given the book as part of a wedding present by my new father-in-law, when I received a telephone call, telling of the sudden passing of my own father.
Immediately I took the book in my hands and began leafing through it, reading at random. Everything I read was perfect for meeting my need. One of the ideas I gained then was that God, our heavenly Father, is Spirit, all good and all Life, and that we, His children, are spiritual ideas. I began to reason that if my dad and I were both spiritual ideas, we could never be separated. This not only satisfied me, but freed me from any possible thought of sadness or sorrow, right then and there. I experienced a peace and joy that I had not known before. What is more, that joy remained with me in the following weeks, when sorrow was expressed all around me.
This was a complete and permanent release for me, and has remained so to this day. The idea of Life being spiritual, and spiritual ideas being at one with their creator and each other, has stayed with me as a source of spiritual strength that has served to comfort others who are meeting this challenge also.
