What's in a Bible Lesson?

From the July 2004 issue of The Christian Science Journal

If you've never seen a copy of the Christian Science Quarterly, attended a Sunday service at a Church of Christ, Scientist, or linked to the Bible Lesson online, here's a snapshot of what weekly Bible Lesson includes.

Weekly Subject: One of the following 26 topics chosen by Science and Health author Mary Baker Eddy: God; Sacrament; Life; Truth; Love; Spirit; Soul; Mind; Christ Jesus; Man; Substance; Matter; Reality; Unreality; Are Sin, Disease, and Death Real?; Doctrine of Atonement; Probation After Death; Everlasting Punishment; Adam and Fallen Man; Mortals and Immortals; Soul and Body; Ancient and Modern Necromancy, alias Mesmerism and Hypnotism, Denounced; God the Only Cause and Creator; God the Preserver of Man; Is the Universe, Including Man, Evolved by Atomic Force?; Christian Science.

Golden Text: A selection from the Bible that summarizes the Lesson's central message. Generally these selections are taken from the King James Version of the Bible, but in Mrs. Eddy's time they sometimes came from other translations.
