The following experience took place several years ago.
I had been feeling some discomfort, and one day I discovered a large, painful lump in the lower part of my body. I told my mother about this and she replied that we would know the truth about it.
The next day I contacted a Christian Science practitioner to help me pray about the condition. “Substance” was the subject of the Bible Lesson that week from the Christian Science Quarterly and when reading the Lesson it was great to be reminded that our true substance is spiritual, not material, and that a spiritual idea of God cannot be diseased or have pain. This was the truth my mother was referring to.
