There is a story in the Bible about a woman with an “issue of blood” (see Mark 5:25–34). She was in this state for twelve years, and no one could help her; however, she reached out to touch the hem of Christ Jesus’ garment and was immediately healed.
Several years ago, I was experiencing daily bleeding rather than a regular monthly cycle. When, after a few months, the symptoms worsened, I decided to get serious about addressing this through prayer. I started by reading that Bible account of the woman who was healed of an issue of blood.
I knew something in my thought needed to change in order for harmony to be restored. In a moment of quiet prayer, an answer came to me: “Embrace your womanhood.” This thought was a surprise, as most of my life had been spent in male-dominated environments, and I hadn’t given much thought to womanhood qualities, let alone “embraced” them. So with this new idea, I immediately set to work to understand the spiritual qualities of true womanhood more deeply.
