Challenging lies about health

From the December 2020 issue of The Christian Science Journal

One of the things I teach my students in university classes is to provide evidence for the reasons they give when making an argument. Evidence is the proof behind the reasoning that makes the argument ring true.

Challenging assumptions with clear reasons and evidence is part of the critical thinking that is so important in any field of endeavor, and the practice of Christian Science is no exception. Healing through prayer as taught in Christian Science involves gaining a clearer understanding of God, good, and proving the truth of man’s wholeness as God’s spiritual creation—despite what the material senses might be telling us.

Mary Baker Eddy, a lifelong student of the Bible who discovered the Christ Science underlying Jesus’ teachings and healing work, not only learned how to heal quickly and permanently through prayer as Jesus did, but also taught many others to heal as well. Her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures explains the Science that enables anyone to pray and heal through comprehending and proving God’s law of harmony.
