Unshakable integrity and healing

From the December 2020 issue of The Christian Science Journal

From early childhood to the present day, I have always liked to look through the viewing holes in the fences surrounding construction sites. As a child, I recall wondering why it took so long to see something appear above the fence. Then my first peek behind the barrier showed me that a lot of work was taking place to construct the foundation of the building.

I also came to understand that the integrity—the stability and soundness—of a building has a lot to do with the strength and quality of its foundation.

There are all kinds of foundations, including the physical ones that support buildings. And then there is the spiritual foundation that undergirds the identity of man (each one of us) as God’s spiritual offspring. This foundation is our indestructible relation to God, our creator and the only true Parent of us all. Our relation to God is eternal and unchanging; God and man are forever inseparable.
