About two years ago, I had an opportunity to vacation near a lovely swimming pool. I was looking forward to the joy of plunging into the water and swimming. But as I stepped onto the small platform in front of the steps going down into the pool, both of my feet slid out from under me, and as I fell, my back hit the metal stair railing.
There was no lifeguard and no other swimmer in the pool, so no one saw me fall. I was grateful to be able to lie there a few moments and then pull myself back onto my feet.
After I got up, I didn’t feel any pain, so I decided that I could continue with my swim. I was able to do all the strokes, but encountered a little pain, so I prayed. As I swam, I denied that God makes accidents or that the infinite God, who made man (the family name for all the sons and daughters of God), made him subject to falling, pain, or injury of any sort.
