Whether we are facing problems at work, a relationship difficulty, or an illness, opening our thoughts to God’s angel messages can enable us to receive answers that lead the way to spiritual solutions. In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, who discovered Christian Science, defines angels, in part, as “God’s thoughts passing to man; spiritual intuitions, pure and perfect” (p. 581). These are the thoughts we need to listen for in order to gain spiritual insight.
I was on the oversight committee of our condominium association in Mexico when our general manager resigned suddenly. During an emergency board meeting, much concern was expressed that it might be necessary to hire a recruiting company—not planned for in our annual budget—to find a qualified replacement.
After the meeting, I strolled along the beach to quiet my thinking. Initially, anxiety about the situation dominated my thoughts. I worried that finding a qualified candidate would wreak havoc with our budget, while the new manager might be no better than the incompetent one who was leaving with little notice.
