I love the answer God gave Mimi, in the form of “A Rule for Motives and Acts” in the Church Manual, as she was praying about how to address evil more deeply. Her subsequent realization helped me and will help so many people. In numerous African countries (where I lived for many years)—and probably a lot of other places too—I found that the belief in black magic (a belief of an evil power able to act) is at the back of many cases. I see now that Mary Baker Eddy was addressing and handling that belief, and showing us how to do it too, in the “Rule for Motives and Acts.”
