Testimonies of Healing

I came into Christian Science after I had tried many ologies and isms, and found no help or peace therein. Although at first disbelieving in its healing power, I realized its message of hope.

The Science of correct thinking was brought to my attention five years ago by the healing of a neighbor of tuberculosis. A copy of The Christian Science Journal and two copies of the Christian Science Sentinel were handed me upon inquiry; and although deeply embittered against what I thought religion was, I was curious to know the foundation of a religion that could accomplish such a cure.

I take pleasure in expressing my gratitude for all the blessings I have received through Christian Science. For a time our existence could be compared to a small boat on a rolling sea, beaten on all sides by threatening waves of sickness and every other sort of inharmony.

It is with great gratitude for what Christian Science has done, and still is doing, not only in my own family but throughout the whole world, that I send this testimony. One of the things for which I am very grateful is the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School when a girl.

  It is with a happy heart that I offer up a prayer of thanksgiving for the light of Truth which, in the hour of greatest need, came into my life to banish darkness, to save and regenerate, to bless and heal. For more than a year it seemed a formidable battle.

I Am profoundly grateful to God that I have found the truth which makes free, and especially happy for the understanding which is daily unfolding to me Jesus' words: "I can of mine own self do nothing," and, "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. " Christian Science came into my life eleven years ago, but for only a few years have I been able to apply the truth aright.

It is the desire to sing praise to God in deepest gratitude that prompts me to write this testimony. I received my awakening at a testimony meeting at The Mother Church seven years ago.

For a number of years our family has been enjoying the fruits of Christian Science. We can testify to many healings and blessings supplied by our Father-Mother God.

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for my healing, and for many other blessings which have come to me in Christian Science. For about thirty years I suffered from a chronic nephritic disorder, with which I was confined to bed every winter.

Not having seen a testimony from this part of the country for some time, I should like to say that I enjoy reading the different accounts of gratitude from all the states, many from places where I formerly lived, and also those from foreign countries. We rejoice that Christian Science has gone "across the ocean" and is being "known in every land.
