Testimonies of Healing
It is with loving gratitude I wish to testify to the many blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science. I am grateful to have found the loving Father-Mother God, who ever answers when we call in truth; grateful for the sense of peace and protection our Lesson-Sermons bring to us.
Though I began studying Christian Science only for a more helpful interpretation of the Bible, physical ailments began to disappear. I had had several attacks of nervous prostration, at one time spending some weeks in a sanatorium.
After many years of prejudice against what I thought Christian Science to be, this prejudice vanished after visiting a family of Christian Scientists, where such love and harmony were expressed that a deep impression was made on me. A young daughter of the family instantaneously healed me of a very severe headache on the first day of my visit.
As I return in thought to the time when I believed that I had nothing to live for, my heart overflows with love and gratitude to God, "the all-hearing and all-knowing Mind, to whom each need of man is always known and by whom it will be supplied" ( Science and Health, p. 7 ), and to our beloved Leader, Mrs.
I wish to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me and mine. I have had such wonderful proofs of the healing power of Christian Science.
I am deeply grateful to divine Love for showing me the way to Christian Science, whereby happiness and peace have returned to our home. I became acquainted with Christian Science in January, 1925, through a business friend, and began to attend the Sunday services and Wednesday evening testimony meetings at once.
It is with the hope of encouraging some poor sufferer that I send this testimony. I had been more ill than well ever since our first child was born, over seventeen years ago, and had spent on doctors and operations much which should have been used for my family's needs.
It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I write this testimony of the healing power of divine Love. From earliest childhood I was considered very delicate, being seldom free from some form of ailment, and constantly obliged to seek medical aid.
Some time ago my little girl was run over by a heavy automobile, the wheels passing over her leg. After I arrived at the hospital to which the child had been taken, they took an X-ray picture of the leg.
From infancy I had "suffered many things of many physicians"— medical, surgical, osteopathic, electric; and although they were so kind and did all they could, yet one difficulty would hardly be overcome when another would appear, until the climax was reached in the occurrence of an explosion. This experience brought about a mental condition one dislikes to recall.
