Testimonies of Healing

Ten years ago, the only verdict given by doctors and specialists was that I would be an invalid for the rest of my life. At that time I suffered untold agony with abscesses in the bones of my face and head.

"Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. " This truth has been proved many times in my experience, and has never failed once since I became interested in Christian Science.

"Let the redeemed of the Lord say so," we are told in the Bible. I therefore lovingly and joyfully send this testimony for publication; for in my endeavor to study and practice Christian Science I can truly say I have in some measure been redeemed from the belief in an evil power, and been made to realize in some degree the ever-presence of a loving God.

Having shared the blessings which Christian Science is bringing to all who turn to it with an earnest and receptive heart, I should like to add my testimony of gratitude. I did not come to this Science for physical healing, but because I was impressed with the inspiring logic of its textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

My mother, my sister, and I were paying an afternoon visit to a doctor's wife. As a slight shower of rain was falling, we waited for a while.

In early girlhood I united with an orthodox church, but after several years of earnest service I was disappointed with the results obtained from the teachings of this church. I then changed my membership to another denomination, thinking perhaps this would bring me more harmony; but after sixteen years of faithful work I became sick in both body and mind, and the church seemed a failure.

This testimony is in grateful acknowledgment of the great blessing Christian Science has been to me. I was healed of appendicitis through the study of Christian Science.

I wish to express my deep and sincere gratitude to God for revealing Christian Science to me, to mine, and to all who are willing to receive it. I have been healed of many diseases in the past eight years, such as a condition after pneumonia, diphtheritic throat trouble, chronic catarrh, periodical headaches, colds, night terrors, and many other ills unknown to me by name.

For four years I suffered from a very painful stomach trouble. Physicians tried everything, but finally hardening of the stomach developed, and I was operated upon.

This afternoon I am thinking of my wonderful healing some years ago, and the desire has come to me to give it out in order to benefit and help others as I have so often been helped by reading the testimonies in our periodicals. For two years I suffered with rheumatism, and a part of that time was compelled to use crutches.
