Testimonies of Healing

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for the many blessings I have received from Christian Science. The great truth which Mary Baker Eddy has revealed, that man's real nature and identity are spiritual and that he is the perfect creation of a perfect God, frees us from the falsities of material sense.

I am a taxidermist and while at work in the laboratory of the Victoria National Museum some time ago, I wounded my hand severely with a poisonous knife. My chief and the artist of the museum were greatly alarmed and hurried me off to a doctor, assuring me that while Christian Science might be all right, this was not the time to experiment with it, as I would be risking my life if I did not at once have my hand attended to! Having experienced a great healing in Christian Science once before, I went to a Christian Science practitioner for help.

In January, 1922, I was taken very ill with the grippe. After I had been ill for six weeks I tried to get up, but felt very weak.

I am so thankful that I am privileged to be called a Christian Scientist, and to share with others the blessings which have come to me through the application of this truth. One of the healings I might mention was that of what the world calls itching piles.

Christian Science has been my physician for over twenty years. It has enabled me to overcome many sicknesses and other discordant conditions.

Christian Science came to me in a very lovely way. My husband, our baby, and I were homesteading several miles from town and neighbors when a great desire came to me to read the Bible.

I had been acquainted with Christian Science for some few years, but because of the prejudice with which I first approached it, the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, aroused antagonism.

When I began the study of Christian Science some seven years ago, I was in bondage to many ills, among them intestinal indigestion, weak heart action, deafness, and mental depression. After reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I realized that these conditions were less real to me; so the healing began.

With a grateful heart I wish to testify to a wonderful healing which I experienced in Christian Science. I suffered so severely from a serious abdominal complaint that I could hardly walk.
