Testimonies of Healing

In June of 1925 I experienced a wonderful demonstration of the power of Truth. My daughter, aged twenty-four, was suddenly attacked with cholera, which was very prevalent that summer in the valleys of Kashmir.

It is now over ten years since I was led to Christian Science, and I have proved in some degree that it is all it claims to be,—the law of God,— and that whatever the problem, it never fails when properly applied. In 1918, by the help of a loving practitioner, I experienced a beautiful healing of influenza.

I feel that I must try to express part of the gratitude I feel for what Christian Science has done for me, in the hope that someone who is wandering in the darkness of mortal belief may be guided thereby to the same light. I was brought up in a very religious home; but it was not until severe troubles, domestic and financial, came upon me, breaking up my home and shattering my health, that I really turned Godward, resolved to find some power that could heal and save both myself and other sufferers.

In a family of six children there have been many children's diseases. Some were overcome instantaneously through Christian Science, others took longer to heal.

It is with a very deep sense of gratitude that I write this testimony for publication. When I was first led to try Christian Science (about four years ago) for healing, I was, according to the medical fraternity, a physical and nervous wreck.

When my baby boy was about four months old, a lump about the size and shape of a small hen's egg appeared on his groin. This simply and naturally disappeared in a very short time as the result of an earnest effort to apply the truth as taught in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

I want to tell of some of the wonderful things Christian Science has done for me. In the fall of 1918 I suddenly became very ill with influenza, being unable to rest for a minute at a time.

Some years ago I took up the study of Christian Science, not because of physical ailments, but for the religious consolation which I needed very much at the time. After a halfhearted investigation I became very much disturbed, and was uncertain as to whether or not I wished to continue the study.

I was introduced to Christian Science in 1904, and can truthfully say I have never met such a friend before or since. At that time there was a small Christian Science Society, not a dozen people in all, which used to meet in different homes on Wednesday evenings to read the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

With a heart full of gratitude I wish to testify to the many blessings which I have experienced in Christian Science. In November, 1924, I was taken ill with fever.
