Testimonies of Healing

I wish to express my gratitude for the privilege of being a student of Christian Science. Christian Science declares, without equivocation, that the truth taught by Jesus, when rightly understood and applied, is sufficient to heal the sick, destroy discord, and establish peace.

Over a year ago I was taken suddenly ill. I had high fever and severe pains in the breast, and suffered from shortness of breath.

With the desire to please another I went to hear a Christian Science lecture; and from that day I began the study of Christian Science. I have been healed of severe headaches, car-sickness, and an internal disease so serious that I seemed to be passing on with hemorrhage.

It is with a great deal of gratitude that I tell of my first healing in Christian Science. I had been sick for a long time, and after an examination by two doctors was told that I had cancer of the stomach.

With gratitude to God I acknowledge my healing through Christian Science. In August, 1917, I was taken with a burning sensation on my tongue which grew worse until my whole system became affected.

It has been my desire for a long time to tell of the many blessings which have come to me through Christian Science in the course of years. I was sick for a long time, and the physician under whose treatment I was did not give me any hope that I should recover.

Christian Science appealed to me the first time I heard of it, twenty-nine years ago. I went with my grandfather to visit a friend, who told him something about this great truth.

I have received so many blessings through Christian Science, more than I can ever speak of, and am so full of gratitude to God, that I send the following experience. In the year 1901, I started my training as a nurse in a large general hospital, the doctors giving an unwilling consent to the experiment, as I had had several epileptic fits in 1893 and 1895 and also in my childhood.

In 1905 a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was placed in my hands in the hope that through the reading and study of it I might aid in the healing of disease in one of my family. To what extent I was able to help in that case I do not know, but I know that there came a change for the better in my own mental and physical condition which was marked, and which has been permanent.

That Christian Science heals, I have been able to prove many times in the past fourteen years. It never fails when properly applied.
