Testimonies of Healing

It is with loving gratitude for the many blessings that have come into my life through the study of Christian Science that I give this testimony. In 1900 an examination of the eyes brought a verdict that there was no vision in one eye, and because of the additional strain on the other eye it appeared to be only a question of a few years until I would be totally blind.

Desiring to express my sincere gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me, I send this testimony, hoping it may help and encourage some one as the testimonies in the Journal and Sentinel have helped and encouraged me. After having a wonderful healing in Christian Science I was overcome with a serious illness of another nature, diagnosed by physicians as colitis, nervous indigestion, intestinal indigestion, ulceration, prostration, weak heart, and other troubles.

I am indeed very grateful for the better understanding of God and man I have gained through the knowledge of Christian Science. In the year 1916 I was feeling very despondent, having suffered with stomach and intestinal trouble for several years.

I feel it my duty to testify to the healing power of Christian Science. I had been a sufferer from headaches for over thirty years.

For many years I suffered from chronic constipation. Practitioners did not seem to help me, but I left them feeling sure this truth was for me in God's way sometime; and I then learned to wait on God.

Truly the study of Christian Science has brought many things into my life which give me just cause for an expression of gratitude. During the past seventeen years this truth has been an ever present source of guidance and protection.

With heart overflowing with gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to Mary Baker Eddy, our revered Leader, I wish to express my gratitude by telling others some of the blessings my children and I have received from the applied truths of Christian Science. I was laboring under stomach trouble when I caught the first gleam of the light of Christian Science.

Christian Science came to me when most needed, at a time when it looked as if everything that life held dear would be swept away. At this time I was much opposed to Christian Science, for I did not know what it really was.

I should like to give thanks for a wonderful healing of sore throat and cold. The cold developed one Saturday evening, and as I had always suffered from colds I thought it was quite time I started to do some serious work about it.

I do not know just where to commence or to leave off in telling of the wonderful change Christian Science has wrought in my life. About six years ago, I suffered from what the physicians pronounced neurasthenia.
