Testimonies of Healing
It is impossible for me to convey in words the depth of my gratitude for Christian Science, through the study of which I have learned what John meant when he said, "God is love. " I did not seek Christian Science because of any physical need.
About seven years ago, I came to Christian Science for help for a serious chronic, and at that time acute, digestional disorder. It seemed, due to the sense of weakness caused by the inability to eat or retain food, that I should be unable to conclude my year of teaching.
When I first took up the study of Christian Science its students did not have the many helps they have today. We did not have the many church organizations and Reading Rooms, neither did we have all of Mrs.
During the eleven years I have been a member of the Christian Science organization I have been grateful for opportunities to express my thankfulness for the truth. One demonstration was the painless birth of a little son.
I came into Christian Science through a wonderful healing of a very serious illness—a case of hemorrhages, the cause or origin of which baffled the physicians. After having two physicians in almost constant attendance for nearly a week, with only an increasing sense of fear on my part, I realized I must have the help the doctors seemed unable to give.
When a very young child, I suffered an attack of infantile paralysis which left me with one leg much shorter and smaller than the other. I was also in a very nervous condition.
In the year 1912 I was taken with sciatic rheumatism. I was healed of the rheumatism but something else set in; and I was always under medical care until I was healed through Christian Science.
In the latter part of February, 1922, I contracted a severe cold, which seemed to settle in the head. There was a constant roaring, and at times I was completely deaf.
Eight years ago I turned to Christian Science for healing after all material remedies had failed. I was healed instantaneously of stomach disorder through the loving help of a practitioner.
Nearly seven years ago I had the privilege of learning of Christian Science, and since that time I can say my life has been completely changed. It is very true that we are transformed mentally and physically in proportion to the renewing of our thoughts.
