Testimonies of Healing

So many wonderful and beautiful proofs of healing through Christian Science have come into my home and life since my first healing thirty-four years ago, that I sometimes stand in awe before them all. My own healing was instantaneous and almost unbelievable.

I am grateful to have found the God of love instead of a God of vengeance. When a child, I was sick and afflicted the greater part of the time; and as my parents were devout members of a so-called orthodox church, I was taught a great deal about God.

For several years prior to taking up the study of Christian Science, I had suffered from a serious eye trouble. This deprived me of my education, as I was taken out of school and compelled to remain in a dark room.

I am profoundly grateful for Christian Science and for all the good it has brought to me. I have learned more about service through Christian Science than I ever knew before: what it really means to serve God by serving our fellow-men, and how the thought of getting fades into oblivion when we learn the real meaning of giving.

I am very grateful for the blessings that have come into my life through Christian Science, and feel that I should send my testimony for others to read; for I have been benefited by reading the helpful testimonies in our periodicals. My first healing was of lameness, after going on crutches for some time.

I had suffered many years from a delicate throat, a trouble believed to be hereditary in my father's family. Last year, after a severe attack of influenza, the agony in my throat became unbearable, so I decided to call a Christian Science practitioner for help.

I shall never be able to tell in words all that Christian Science has done for me. It found me when a girl in a weak and delicate condition.

Several years ago I commenced reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, not for healing, but just to see what Christian Science was like. I saw right away that it was the truth; and the wonderful truth expressed in that wonderful book was so deeply impressed on my consciousness that in a few days I discovered I was healed of a severe and long-standing case of hemorrhoids.

I wish to thank God with all my heart for what He has done for me. About five years ago I heard of Christian Science for the first time; and, what is more, I read of it in a newspaper opposed to Christian Science.

It was in the year 1892 that we first heard of and became interested in Christian Science, and since that time we have had many proofs that Christian Science is true, that it does heal sickness and sin and sorrow and help to supply all good. From a very small child I was taught by a loving Christian mother to go to God for everything, and that nothing was impossible to Him.
