Testimonies of Healing

Many are the benefits I have received since taking up the study of Christian Science thirteen years ago. I am especially grateful for the correct understanding of the Bible that Christian Science has given me— to know that it is evil that is to be "cast out into outer darkness," and not God's children.

Several years ago I turned to Christian Science when I had become utterly discouraged on account of continued ills. I was under the care of a specialist, and had been for some time; and he had just told me that if the diseased condition of a bone did not heal that week he would have to operate.

Before coming into Christian Science, I suffered from constant colds, children's diseases, sore throat, earache, accidents, and a sense of grief at being bereft of a father; also from self-pity at being the youngest member of the family. All these have been quickly and finally healed in Science, and I rejoice in the fact.

When Christian Science first came to me I was in the depths of unhappiness and despair, which condition I can now plainly see was brought about through my false concept of existence. I was seeking happiness and contentment through material channels, but found only disappointment and sorrow.

During the early part of 1917 a growth started on my ear. After a short time it became sore, and grew larger; and I had every reason to believe it was something malignant.

It is now many years since I heard of Christian Science, and the first reading of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, brought me freedom from a form of indigestion from which I had suffered for a long time. Since then I have had many healings from colds, chills, and influenza; but the physical healing for which I am most grateful was of a lifelong fear of bronchial asthma, through Christian Science treatment.

Whenever I have turned to the testimonies of Christian Scientists and used them in the way our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, meant them to be used,—as bearing witness to the fact that God is Love,—I have always been helped. After knowing of Christian Science and its blessings for ten or twelve years, but never really standing for it or using it entirely, I was suddenly awakened to this truth through an accident.

It is seven years since I first heard of Christian Science and its wonderful textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. During these years one demonstration after another has taken place in our home.

Some time ago, while still very far down in the valley, working out of what seemed at that time an impossible physical condition, I would often think how wonderful it would be if I were healed and could help others by my experience. So it is with great gratitude and joy that I give this testimony.

I Wish to express my gratitude for the many beautiful healings we have had through the study and application of Christian Science. At a time of deepest need Christian Science was presented to me.
