Testimonies of Healing

A feeling of deep gratitude prompts me to tell of the blessing which I have received in Christian Science. Eleven years ago my daughter, who was then twelve years old, was afflicted with a severe scrofulous disease which affected her seriously.

When quite a young girl I became interested in Christian Science through attending the Christian Science Sunday School. The lessons of truth and love which I learned there have been the foundation of my living ever since, and have directed my path in the right way during the subsequent years.

Christian Science has blessed me in many ways. One of the first healings I experienced in Christian Science was that of eye trouble.

It is four years since I was first introduced to the subject of Christian Science, in order to help a dear one who was suffering intensely, and whom the doctors could not relieve. When I was told Christian Science would heal without drugs, I was rude enough to say, "I could never believe that.

Though I had heard of Christian Science for a number of years, beyond admitting its metaphysical value I found no real use for it until a little over four years ago. It was then, after a period of severe business depression, that as a result of the consequent worry, fear, and loss I was taken very ill.

" Freely ye have received, freely give. " These words are singing in my consciousness to-day.

Christian Science was offered to me about five years ago when I seemed in extremity, which proved indeed to be God's opportunity. For several years I had had occasional attacks of stomach trouble, which then became continuous for three years, with a physician in almost constant attendance.

In February, 1924, after six months of suffering which had become more and more severe, T was, to my great regret, obliged to give up my work as a clerk in Paris, where I went each day. The doctor whom I saw at this time, and in whom I had complete confidence, treated me for severe inflammation of the bladder, and prescribed several medicines, which brought no improvement.

For a number of years previous to 1916, I struggled with many diseases and physical discords, among which were rheumatism, dyspepsia, and tuberculosis of the lungs and throat. I was under treatment at various sanitariums and received some temporary relief.

For many years I have wished to send my testimony to our periodicals, because I have frequently been helped and encouraged by reading those of others. I have been healed of hay fever, bilious attacks, colds, and other ailments, but the healing for which I am most grateful is that of defective sight.
