Testimonies of Healing

Jesus' promise, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free,"' was proved true to me in my healing through Christian Science a few years ago. For five years previous to that time my health had been constantly failing, and the last year I was almost a helpless invalid.

My gratitude for Christian Science is indeed boundless, as it has become to me even the hope, the joy, and the purpose of living. My life had grown dark in prospect while I was yet a child, as it was thought I had inherited a weak constitution.

Eighteen months ago I came to Christian Science for the healing of severe nasal catarrh of eleven years' standing, which had resulted in the loss of the sense of smell and often loss of voice. Now the membrane is normal, also the sense of smell and taste, and not a trace of the trouble is left.

My healing was considered wonderful by those who knew me. Seemingly possessed of an appetite for liquor, a temper at times apparently ungovernable, suffering from an abscess on the thigh which the best doctor in Detroit could not cure after two years of persistent effort, chronic catarrh of twenty-five years' standing, and the climax capped by an attack of what was pronounced typhoid-pneumonia, I considered myself "down and out" mentally, physically, and financially.

It is more than six years since I was healed in Christian Science. I had not been well for three years, and for three months previous to my healing I had been in constant pain from inflammation of the bladder and other ills.

I am very thankful to God for this wonderful truth, for need of which humanity has suffered so long, and which has come to us through the study of Mrs. Eddy's writings.

While visiting my sister in Tucson, Ariz. , with my three children, the boy of six was taken ill.

I am deeply grateful for what Christian Science has done for me. For many years I had been suffering from rheumatism, throat trouble, and neuralgia.

Christian Science came to me at a time when early religious teaching had become empty and unreal and the Bible a closed book. In searching for some solution of the mystery of life I had become entangled in the mazes of the occult, and for the liberation from this thought, though very gradual, I can never feel sufficiently thankful.

From the age of fourteen, sickness seemed to be my lot. I was suffering with anemia, as well as stomach and heart trouble, and continued ailing in this way until I became nineteen.
