Testimonies of Healing

I am truly grateful for the better and happier understanding of life that I have gained through the study of the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

I came to Christian Science through a desire to be healed of nervous and stomach trouble, from which I had been more or less of a sufferer all my life. I was supposed to have inherited this disease, as my father and grandfather had both died of it.

Christian Science has healed me of many diseases, fears, and errors of disposition. All that I have and am I owe to this truth.

I wish to return thanks for a few of the blessings I have received from God through the understanding and application of Christian Science. In March, 1911, I was stricken with acute lung trouble in a severe form.

From the time I was eight years old I suffered from rheumatism of the joints, to which was added a supposedly organic heart trouble, which grew more serious in the course of years and resulted in spasms of the heart. I consulted several specialists, who prescribed baths and rest treatment; but it all proved of no avail.

I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. What brought me into the actual study of it was the healing of my mother, who had for weeks been very ill with a complication of diseases.

Words cannot express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me. Two years ago my throat seemed to be almost closed, so that I could not swallow food, or even water.

It is from a heart overflowing with gratitude to God that I give my testimony to the power of Truth. Two years and seven months ago Christian Science found me very miserable in every way, both physically and mentally, for I had had a stomach disorder and other organic troubles for years which had baffled the skill of materia medica, and the doctors had told me that if I lived to be over the age of forty the disease would become malignant.

Last winter our seven-year-old daughter was taken with pain in all her limbs, which increased in severity with every hour, all the joints being very much swollen. It became necessary for us to carry her, though this caused her great distress.

I feel it a duty, and also a privilege, to send in my mite in the way of testimony to some of the benefits received through Christian Science. I cannot tell all the peace, contentment, and change for the better that have come into my home through this blessed truth, but I will refer to two demonstrations which my husband was able to make for me just recently.
