Testimonies of Healing

Every well breath I have drawn for nearly fifteen years I owe to the healing power of the Christ-truth, as found in Christian Science. A stomach trouble, paralysis of one eye and defective vision of the other, pleurisy, susceptibility to colds, and many other ills, have been overcome by this truth.

With a heart full of gratitude to God, and also to our Leader, I wish to add my testimony to the practical efficacy of the healing power of Christian Science. For thirteen years Truth has been our physician.

Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. " How much those words mean to a Christian Scientist! When visiting my sister a little over two years ago, I became interested in Christian Science, and while there my little son was healed of measles with the help of a practitioner.

The truth of being, realized by patient and practitioner, brings freedom from all that is opposed to health and harmony. This great truth, demonstrated through the understanding of Christian Science, destroys false belief, the seem-to-be mists and misapprehensions of mortal sense, and as we advance step by step on our journey, we understand that in proportion as the belief of life in matter is thus destroyed by the realization of the truth, we are lifted above all earth-clouds and rise into that clearer view which our Leader has so beautifully termed the "range of fetterless Mind" ( Science and Health, p.

I wish to call attention to a most remarkable demonstration of the healing power of divine Truth, hoping that it may help some one. Three years ago I was stricken with a very severe trouble in my leg.

Deep gratitude impels me to tell of the many blessings which I have experienced through Christian Science. My boy was afflicted for many years with a disease of the blood, as a result of which swellings and severe pain would manifest themselves whenever he fell or knocked himself, and no physician was able to heal him of this trouble.

As I have so often received help and a clearer understanding through the testimonies in the Journal and Sentinel, and realize that gratitude requires of us an acknowledgment of the benefits already received, I submit my testimony of what Christian Science has done for me. I came into Science gradually, attracted by the joy and light manifested by the Christian Scientists I had known.

I suffered with a bowel trouble from the time I was a small child. I took medicine for years, but got no relief until I came into Christian Science; then I was healed.

With deep gratitude I offer my testimony to the healing efficacy of Truth as revealed through Christian Science. Four years ago, when I suffered an acute attack of lung trouble, I went to a Christian Science practitioner and was healed without losing one hour from business, despite very inclement weather and many increased labors due to the financial panic of that time.

Unspeakable gratitude to God prompts me to testify to the blessings which I have received through Christian Science. During the past ten years I have experienced various ills, including lung and kidney trouble, pleurisy and appendicitis, making it necessary for me to spend from eight to twelve weeks in the hospital every year.
