Testimonies of Healing
With a deep sense of thankfulness I write this testimony for the benefit of others, realizing the help I have received in the same way. I have known something of the good done by Christian Science for more than twenty years, but did not study it until the last eight or ten years, and I find that the more I study and try to demonstrate its teachings the more I gain from it.
Before coming to Christian Science, I had been suffering from ill health for many years, and worry seemed to increase it, until at times I suffered almost complete collapse. I tried many doctors and remedies without any benefit, I also tried willpower, and thought that if I paid no attention to my ailments they might disappear in time; but I kept getting worse, until finally I gave up and sank into a state of hopelessness, when death would indeed have been welcome.
I have been so greatly benefited by the teachings of Christian Science that I would indeed be ungrateful were I not to make public acknowledgment therefor. I first read Mrs.
In July, 1910, I had every symptom of a fever, and as there was a case of it in the house where I was living, I felt very fearful. I wrote to a Christian Science practitioner for help, and the disease was quickly met and overcome.

I had always been terrified at the thought of having a tooth extracted, and I had been a student of Christian Science several years before it became necessary for me to go to a dental office for that purpose. A lower tooth had been giving me some trouble, so I decided to have it removed.
Christian Science has done so much for me that I desire to acknowledge publicly my gratitude for it all. I was a member of a church for a number of years, also a teacher in its Sunday school, but must say I was never satisfied.
My sister, living in Scotsville, Cape Breton, suffered for about three years from severe inflammation in her knee, accompanied, as is usual in such cases, by stiffness of the joint and great pain. Several physicians, among them one of Quincy's leading doctors and an eminent medical man in Boston, treated her, but failed to effect a cure or even secure permanent improvement.
SEVEN years ago last November (1910) I was completely healed of acute lung trouble, neuralgia, and rheumatism, through the operation of Christian Science. I was also freed at the same time from the liquor and tobacco habits.
