Testimonies of Healing

I have had people say to me that Christian Science would be all right if only Mrs. Eddy were left out of it.

After six years of living in the light of Truth, I feel impelled by an overwhelming sense of gratitude to tell of some of the blessings which Christian Science has brought to me. When I first sought its aid I was in a state of utter despair.

I feel impelled to give public expression to my gratitude for all I have received through Christian Science, with the hope that it may bear its share in helping my fellow beings, although it would be impossible to tell of all the instances in which good has come to us. When Christian Science found me, I was sick and miserable, mentally and physically, but through its ministry I have found health and joy.

Three years ago I was a sufferer from what is known as Bright's disease, severe nervous exhaustion, with many symptoms of paralysis, respecting which attending physicians could offer little hope. For five months I was unable to attend to my professional duties, with the outlook, according to medical science, of never being able to do so.

For years I suffered severely with an eye trouble. As soon as I tried to read, pain in the head and eyes would set in.

It is with heartfelt joy and gratitude that I testify to the healing power of Christ, as revealed in Christian Science. Some four years ago, I was a hopeless invalid, suffering from a so-called malignant and incurable disease.

It is with great pleasure and the hope of helping others that I give this testimony of healing through Christian Science. Over three years ago my seven-year-old brother was taken with acute lung trouble.

As the Sentinel comes into our home week after week, and I read the helpful testimonies of others, I realize that none have more reason to be grateful for Christian Science than myself, and that this gratitude should be expressed both in words and deeds. My first healing in Christian Science took place over five years ago, and at that time I was in a state of semiinvalidism from an organic trouble which had caused me both mental and physical anguish for many months.

I first heard of Christian Science about seven years ago, from a fellow passenger on my way out to India. My growth in the understanding of its teachings has been slow, but gradually the spirit of Truth is being revealed to me, and just as fast as I am capable of using it, the power of Truth is making itself felt.
