Testimonies of Healing

In giving this testimony I am impelled by gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, through whom release became possible from what is generally considered an incurable disease.

I should like to tell of a demonstration which occurred in my household a year and a half ago. My little girl, eight years old, was supposedly exposed to throat trouble at school, and some days after was stricken with the disease.

It was in a small town in Colorado that early in the summer of 1896 I first heard of Christian Science. Two sisters called on me, one of whom had been thoroughly healed through Christian Science of throat and bronchial trouble, after she had been an invalid for years.

I am inexpressibly grateful to Christian Science and to its Discoverer, both for what it is and for what it has done for me. Five years ago I left college with a severe case of nervous illness and was in a hospital for several weeks.

I would like to add my testimony of healing and to tell a little of what Christian Science can do for mankind, especially when all material help has failed. I have found this to be true, that "man's extremity is God's opportunity.

That God's law is a law of perfection has been wonderfully proven to me since I became interested in Christian Science, some fourteen months ago. I came into Science because I wanted a God.

With deepest gratitude and as an act of thanksgiving to God I send this testimony of my beautiful and instantaneous healing, trusting fervently it may help others. For twenty-two years I was ill from a fever which developed into heart trouble and was aggravated by attacks of throat and lung trouble, and later on by a sharp attack which the doctor feared would be fatal.

Some months ago my husband was stricken with very acute pain in the left eye. He had been suffering at intervals, however, for several months, and decided to go to a specialist at once for treatment.

Hoping that others may benefit thereby, I feel it a duty as well as a great pleasure to give my personal experience of the very happy results of Christian Science. Spiritually I have been raised from the dead, and my blind eyes have been made to see; physically the lame has been made to walk.

I have good reason to be grateful to Christian Science. Brought up in the fear of a lung trouble which was believed to be hereditary, I remained many years in dread of this disease.
