Testimonies of Healing
It is with deep gratitude that I send my testimony to tell a few of the many blessings which I have received during my short study of Christian Science. I had from infancy attended an orthodox church regularly, and loved it, but, although I received a certain amount of happiness, for years trouble and sadness were always at hand, with never a ray of light to be seen, till finally I gave up the church (after trying various others), only to become a hard and bitter skeptic.
As "a just acknowledgment" I submit my tribute for the Journal . Some six years ago, at a time of deep despondency, in the recognition that materia medica.
I had been troubled with my kidneys off and on for a number of years. Early in 1900 I grew worse, and after taking medicine from doctors I was obliged to give up work on the railroad where I was employed.
It is about seven years since I first heard of Christian Science, and for the many blessings it has brought into my life I desire to express my sincere gratitude. For some years before commencing the study of Science and Health I had been obliged to wear glasses, but these were soon laid aside, not being any longer necessary.
My grandson was healed in Christian Science in this city between six and seven years ago. Previously he had been bedfast four months, coughing almost constantly.
It is with a feeling of deep gratitude that I give this testimony. I was, without warning, stricken with paralytic trouble in my face.
I wish to give public expression of gratitude for my healing in Christian Science. About two years ago I was suffering from a very serious illness, and the physician who attended me said that I must be removed to a hospital.
In April, 1906, I was in a critical condition both mentally and physically. 1 had been a great sufferer from rheumatic trouble, which had settled in my eyes, and I had become almost totally blind.
It is with a deep feeling of gratitude, and a hope that this testimony may benefit some poor sufferer, that I now write. Five years ago I underwent a surgical operation for a growth in the breast, but without success, as it soon returned and was worse than before.
My boy, who is now eight years old, had an illness two years ago which was followed by ear trouble. He was operated upon; but as the fever was very high at times he was removed to a hospital in Cologne, and a more serious operation was performed.
