Testimonies of Healing

It is with a deep sense of gratitude for Christian Science that I add my testimony to the healing power of Truth. Many knew of my affliction, and in a material way sympathized with me and did all in their power to alleviate my suffering, but without any relief.

I have had many beautiful demonstrations of the power of Truth, and after the last great typhoon experience (published in the Christian Science Sentinel of Aug. 24, 1907), I cannot any longer have a shadow of a doubt, in all my daily work and trouble, as to the Father's ever-presence.

My life, up to the time I found Christian Science, had been a search for good, for love, not knowing that when Love was found, there would I find the Father—God, the creator of all, holding His creation in the perfect law of Love. My earliest recollection is of good; then gradually, as I grew older, evil crept in to take a place in my thought and spoil the harmony.

Six years ago I was led to Christian Science by "a little child. " My two children, three and five years old, had asked to go to the Christian Science church because they could hear and loved the music which came from the near-by church at the evening service, after they had been put to bed.

It is now a year and a half since I was healed in Christian Science, and I have waited this long because I wanted it thoroughly acknowledged that I was healed before sending in my testimony. Love of excitement and a weakness for popularity caused me to drink and smoke simply because others did, until I no longer controlled these habits but had become their slave.

Over three years ago one who is very dear to me was healed in Christian Science, when all other remedies had been tried and had failed to give relief. Through this healing I became interested in Christian Science and began to read the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

To discover that God is an ever-present power for good is a revelation indeed to one brought up in the old way. In my own case, as mental and physical misery increased, I withdrew farther and farther from a God who would, as I had been told, willingly inflict such punishment on His children.

I have many times thought I would send on my testimony to the power of Christian Science to heal and save, and have even commenced to write it, but for various reasons it has never been finished. Now I feel the time has come when the story of my healing must be told, in the hope that it may help—if only one.

I am thankful that I can testify to the healing power of Christian Science, for I know it is the truth that makes us free and teaches us how to find the kingdom of heaven. For several years I suffered from stomach trouble and severe headaches, also extreme nervousness.
