Testimonies of Healing

For many years I had heart, liver, and kidney trouble. Physicians could not help me, and so for seven long years I had given up everything, and was waiting for death to free me, when I heard of Christian Science.

I desire to tell of my attitude towards Christian Science and why I am in that attitude. At such a time as this there appears before me a mental picture of that which claimed to be I before I became acquainted with Christian Science.

Before coming into Science six years ago I was a complete physical wreck. I had severe nervous trouble and was compelled to give up my work.

I first became interested in Christian Science in February, 1905, although I had heard of it long before this time, as I have a step-sister who has been a Scientist for five years. I, however, thought she had lost her mind, and said so.

The day has come when I am able to testify to the good I have received through Christian Science. Just about a year ago I was led to Christian Science, and when I now look back upon the many former years I feel very much ashamed that I paid so little heed to spiritual things.

I have studied Christian Science for about two years, and when I stop to think how little I formerly knew of the truth, I feel very much encouraged. I still have much to overcome, but I am given sufficient strength and understanding for each day's problem, and I know that I am taking a forward step every day toward perfect harmony.

UNDER God, I owe all I have and am to the teachings of Christian Science,—my present life, since November, 1900; my spiritual understanding; my earthly possessions, my home, and family circle,—and it is due Mrs. Eddy that I make this declaration in the most public way possible.

It is well-nigh time that my "tithe" was in "the storehouse," so I most lovingly submit the following testimony, with a heart full of gratitude which no words can express. When Christian Science first found me I was surely in the valley of shadows, as five or six of the best physicians in our land had said that I could not possibly recover.

It is with a deep sense of gratitude to God and thankfulness to our beloved Leader that I attempt to give a statement of my very remarkable healing through Christian Science. Some ten years ago I was most wonderfully healed of a complication of diseases which threatened to prove fatal, and which the attending physician pronounced incurable.

Christian Science came to my attention through the healing of my wife of appendicitis, and I at once became a student of its text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
